Helpful Information for Your Stay
What about telephone service and cell phone use? You may use your cell phone in any public area, including hallways, lobbies, waiting areas, and the cafeteria. However, cell phones aren’t allowed within six feet of medical equipment or in non-public restricted areas such as intensive care units, surgery, recovery, and the lab.
Incoming calls may be received in your room from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Outgoing calls can be made at any time. Local calls are no charge. Long-distance calls should be charged to a credit card, calling card, or home telephone number. Prepaid calling cards are available in the gift shop.
Will you have a television in your room? Yes. Television service at ProMedica Toledo Hospital is free of charge.
What about special dining requests? Our dietary department makes healthy and enjoyable meals for our patients. We’re happy to provide any special food needs that you may have or that your doctor may order due to medical, religious, cultural, or personal reasons. Where can you learn more about your procedure? Beyond the open communication our doctors and medical staff provide, we also offer Emmi®, an interactive education solution for the simplest procedures or the most complex surgeries. With a code from your ProMedica Physicians provider, you can access your Emmi® assigned education.
Communication, Support, and Advocacy
How do you get hearing and sign language assistance? Certified sign language interpreters, as well as phones with volume controls, are available.
What if you need an interpreter? Translation services are free. Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, German, Polish, Arabic, Vietnamese, and more languages are offered from in-person, as well as through video-based, interpreters.

What if you would like to speak to a chaplain? A chaplain is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to offer support, prayers, sacraments, and devotional materials. Also, a non-denominational chapel, located on Level 1 of the hospital, offers a private place for quiet thoughts and meditation. Call Spiritual Care at 419-291-4007.
Patient concerns? To share your concerns, please speak with your
physician, a staff member or the department director or his or her representative. You can also share your concerns by calling the operator at 419-291-4000 and requesting to speak with the administrator On-call. What is the smoking policy? For everyone’s benefit, we’re a tobacco-free campus, both indoors and out. This includes lawns, walkways, sidewalks, parking lots, and inside your vehicle. We also ask that you be respectful of our neighboring community and avoid loitering and littering on these properties.
