My Journey Bead Program
Children who are diagnosed with cancer experience a unique journey of challenges and joys. The My Journey Bead Program helps children tell their story using colored beads as meaningful symbols of the many steps taken throughout their treatment course.
When cancer treatment begins, your child is given a length of twine strung with beads that spell his or her first name. Children then receive different colored beads that acknowledge every moment in their journey, including procedures, chemotherapy, surgery, and many other significant milestones.
Ask your unit nurse for details.
