Resources During Your Stay
How can you learn more about your procedure? Emmi® is an educational, web-based program that explains medical procedures and conditions so you can take away the information you need. Ask your ProMedica Physicians provider for an Emmi® access code, and start your free account.
What if you need an interpreter while you’re here? ProMedica Herrick Hospital offers free interpreter services in many languages, including Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, German, Polish, Arabic, Vietnamese, and sign language. We also provide services for those who are hard of hearing. To request an interpreter between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., please call 419-291-3007. How do I make arrangements for interpreter or sign language assistance prior to coming to the hospital? ProMedica complies with all federal nondiscrimintation and accessibility laws. Read more about how we comply here, or call 844-810-1634 to arrange for the services you need.
Can you get meals prepared with special diets in mind? Yes, our dietary department is happy to accommodate any special foods your doctor has ordered or that you request for personal, cultural, or religious reasons. Call our dietary department at 517-424-6368 from your patient room.
Will you have a TV? Your patient room includes a television and channel guide.
What about cell phones and telephone service? Feel free to use your cell phone in any public areas of our hospital, except within six feet of medical equipment or in non-public restricted areas. You may also take incoming calls on your room phone from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Local calls are free; long-distance calls will be charged.

Can you get an estimate of your bill? You want to know what to expect when it comes to the cost of your services. Our pricing specialist can review your insurance benefits for the services your doctor has ordered to provide you with an estimate of your final bill. View our current pricing information. What about your privacy? Understand your rights regarding your privacy and how we use your health records.
Can you speak with a patient advocate? We want to meet or exceed your expectations. If your care was anything less than excellent, please contact the department manager or your patient representative at 517-265-0279. We’ll assist you in resolving any concerns or provide the additional help you need during your stay.
Is smoking allowed? For your health and the health of other patients, visitors, and employees, we’re a tobacco-free campus, indoors and outdoors. This includes any grounds ProMedica maintains. Please also avoid littering and loitering on properties that surround our campus.
