Heart Failure Treatment
CardioMEMs™ Heart Failure System
CardioMEMs is a new, miniature wireless sensor to help monitor your heart failure. The small device is implanted into your pulmonary artery during a non-surgical procedure. The device measures your pulmonary artery pressure. These readings are the most accurate way to determine if your heart failure is getting worse.
Every day, CardioMEMS transmits the information to your cardiologist’s office or heart failure clinic. Your doctor monitors the readings. If you’re pulmonary artery pressures increases, you and your doctor can begin treatment earlier before your symptoms – shortness of breath, weight gain, swelling legs or feet, or coughing – appear. The goal is to better manage your heart failure and keep you out of the hospital.
If you or a loved one has heart failure and struggles to control it, you may be a candidate for CardioMEMS.
