Because of the efforts of community hospitals like ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, far more patients survive serious diseases and injuries than would have been possible just a few years ago. Every new piece of equipment and each new medical professional we recruit makes every family in our region — including yours — a little healthier.
A vital source of funding our efforts to improve your health and well-being is the philanthropic support of people like you! The generosity of our donors provides us the opportunity to maintain a hospital that is modern and progressive. Without this community support, many of these services and programs simply would not be possible.
Would you join the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation in making a difference in the greater Fostoria area? We'll help you find the charitable avenue that best suits your goals:
- Annual giving
- Memorial gifts
- Specific needs
- Gifts in honor of a recipient
- Planned giving

As a not-for-profit community hospital, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital depends heavily on the generosity of our caring donors to fulfill our primary mission. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us create a better, healthier community.
Fostoria area students pursuing degrees in health care are encouraged to apply for scholarships through the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation. Scholarships in amounts from $500 to $1,500 will be awarded for the 2020 – 2021 academic year.
The Foundation annually administers four scholarship funds. The J.L. Murphy Memorial Fund, J.A. Murray Memorial Scholarship Fund, G.H.W. Bruggemann Memorial Scholarship Fund, and Ruth Nichols Sollars Nursing Education Scholarship Fund were established by former Fostoria area physicians, nurses and their families in support of health care career education. Eligibility requirements are specific to each fund based on the establishing donor’s request and are listed on the application.
Scholarship applications are available online at promedica.org/givefostoria and at the hospital welcome desk/switchboard inside entrance 1. Completed applications must be received by March 15, 2020. Past applicants may reapply. The scholarship awards will be announced in April followed by a scholarship winner recognition event in May.
In 2019, 15 local students received a total of $9,500 in scholarships from the Foundation.
