What is Patient-and-Family-Centered Care?
- Dignity and respect. We listen to and honor your family’s perspectives and choices. Your knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural background are all considered for your care plan and delivery.
- Information sharing. You’ll get complete and unbiased information. You’ll get timely, complete, and accurate information so you can participate in the care process.
- Participation. You’re supported and encouraged as you participate in care and decision-making at the level you choose.
- Collaboration. Patients, families, health care practitioners, and hospital leaders collaborate in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation in health care facility designs, professional education, and delivery of care.
Together, we discuss policies and procedures that impact patients and families and improve your overall hospital experience.
