ProMedica’s commitment to quality care involves the understanding
that it is important to address the emotional and spiritual needs of the
individual, along with their physical needs. Every effort is made to
be sensitive to the diversity of religious and spiritual life of our
community, and our patients. Our chaplains can provide emotional and
spiritual support, which includes prayer, providing religious materials,
providing emotional support, helping to process medical decisions or
assisting you in contacting your personal clergy/spiritual leader.
Eucharistic ministers from local Catholic congregations may bring the
Host to distribute to inpatients who have a Roman Catholic religious
affiliation. Members of other Christian denominations may request
communion through their own faith community. People of other faiths may
request religious rites through their particular faith community as they
are in keeping with hospital standards of care. Please let your nurse
know if you wish to receive a visit from your local faith community.
