Program Director: William Murdoch, MD, FAAFP, RFPHM
Dr. Murdoch did his undergraduate studies at Hope College, in Holland, Michigan, and graduated his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Murdoch completed his residency training at the WSU/Crittenton Family Medicine Residency in Rochester Hills Michigan, and joined the faculty after graduation, eventually becoming the program director.
Dr. Murdoch’s passion is teaching inpatient medicine to residents. He was one of the first family physicians nationwide to receive the Recognition of Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine from the ABFM/ABIM. He currently serves as a teaching hospitalist, associate director of the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital Family Medicine Residency, and Program Director of the Transitional Year Residency.
Laura Gonzalez Grima, MD, MBA
Dr. Grima graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1999 and completed her residency at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. She received a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University in 2013. Dr. Grima has been in private practice prior to joining ProMedica and is site director of the Family Medicine outpatient center.
She recertified for the Family Medicine Boards in 2008 and completed the Faculty Development Institute at the University of Michigan in 2016. Her primary interests are in women’s health, health care administration, such as patient centered medical home and quality initiatives.
Susan J. Hulsemann, MD
Family Medicine Program Director, Susan Hulsemann, M.D., brings nearly 20 years of experience in caring for patients, families and educating family medicine residents. Dr. Hulsemann received her medical degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She further received internship training in Internal Medicine and General Surgery at the University of Ottawa and a transitional year at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. She completed a family medicine residency at Mercy Health Partners in Toledo, Ohio.
Dr. Hulsemann became involved in medical education following residency and served as Assistant Director, Associate Director and the Program Director for Mercy Health Partners Family Medicine Residency Program in Toledo.
Dr. Hulsemann has practiced medicine in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and Ontario, Canada. She has completed fellowships through the American Academy of Family Physicians National Institute for Program Director Development and the University of Michigan Faculty Development Institute.
She has served in the Canadian Navy as a flight surgeon and medical officer. Dr. Hulsemann graduated from Leadership Monroe and has a heart for the citizens of her community, having developed the first free primary care clinic within the county, where she serves as Medical Director.
Dr. Hulsemann is honored to be a part of the ProMedica Monroe Family Medicine Residency Program in Monroe, Michigan. Her vision for this program is clear and simple: “We are committed to developing skilled, compassionate family physicians whom I would be pleased to have providing for the health care needs of my own family.”
Greg Reinhold, DO
Dr. Gregory Reinhold has nearly 30 years of experience in emergency medicine. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his residency training at the former Botsford General Hospital (Beaumont Farmington Hills) where he was chief resident. In addition to working at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital since 1994, he has also worked at Medcentral Shelby Hospital in Ohio as well as St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan.
He is a diplomat of the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. Dr. Reinhold is a member of the American Osteopathic Society, American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians and Michigan Osteopathic Association. He serves as an oral board examiner for the AOBEM and is an item writer for both the NBOME and AOBEM.
