The pharmacy department at ProMedica Flower Hospital is a centralized operation with clinical pharmacists augmenting patient care services. All pharmacists perform verification of orders, final checks of dispensed items, research for drug information questions, and clinical dosing and monitoring. Many of the pharmacists rotate into the Hickman Cancer Center satellite pharmacy to provide parenteral antineoplastic therapies, hydration solutions, and supportive medications for outpatients.
The pharmacy department at ProMedica Toledo Hospital has a centralized adult operations process with decentralized clinical services. Additionally, there are satellite pharmacies in the OR and pediatric areas. Clinical services are provided daily by pharmacists who manage/optimize therapy in specific areas of the hospital, including the intensive care units, emergency department, medical-surgical floors, internal medicine floors, oncology floors, pediatric floors, neonatal units, and more.
