Starting a new job can be overwhelming with new people to meet, duties to master and policies and procedures to follow. Here are some tips and resources to help you hit the ground running.
Attend New Employee Orientation
Our mandatory New Employee Orientation is geared toward making you feel at home at ProMedica. While it differs by business unit and may be offered in person and/or online, completion is critical to your success. New Employee Orientation topics include our Mission, Values, culture, service excellence, diversity and inclusion, benefits, organizational development services, and information technology. Employees also learn about their business unit and department. During New Employee Orientation, you'll receive a binder packed with valuable information and employee resources. New team members in direct patient care positions will be required to attend additional orientation.
Your recruiter will register you for the necessary orientation sessions and will provide you with that information. If you haven't received New Employee Orientation information, please contact your recruiter or speak with your supervisor. Make sure you attend the entire orientation as instructed by the human resources department or your supervisor. Failure to attend may result in your removal from the work schedule.
Please remember to wear proper work attire to New Employee Orientation.
Review Policies and Procedures
Be sure to review important ProMedica policies to find out how a wide variety of employment issues may be handled on a day-to-day basis. Discuss any questions with your supervisor.
Enroll in Benefits
Benefits-eligible employees will receive an e-mail with specific directions on how to access the myHR Benefits web site, read and review plan description, watch educational benefits videos, and enroll in benefits. If you want to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and other benefits, you must enroll online within 30 days of your hire date.
