Residency Benefits

Please find information below about benefits available to residents in our program. We offer competitive salaries, allowances for educational conferences and the ability to design an individually-tailored benefits package.

First Year

Salary: $47,672
Flexible Benefits: $8,000
Total Compensation: $55,672

Second Year

Salary: $51,649
Flexible Benefits: $6,000
Total Compensation: $57,649

Third Year

Salary: $53,824
Flexible Benefits: $6,000
Total Compensation: $59,824

Chief Resident

Salary: $56,374
Flexible Benefits: $6,000
Total Compensation: $62,374

*With flexible benefits, residents can design a financial benefit package that fits their individual needs. Funds provided are to be used at the resident's discretion. These funds are designed to help cover benefit items such as books, personal equipment, memberships, dues, day care, housing, health club memberships and other miscellaneous benefits. An iPad 2 is provided to each resideny for use during residency.

Time Off

First-, Second- and Third-Year residents: 20 working days

Educational Conferences

First Year: $500 allowance*
Second Year: $1,600 allowance*
Third Year: $1,600 allowance*
*15 working days are permitted over a three-year period of time for educational conferences. In addition, residents are sponsored at several national and regional conferences.

Meals

A meal ticket is provided for in-house residents who are on call at night.

Holidays

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, Ju;y 4, Labor Day

Insurance

Liability/Malpractice insurance - provided at no cost

Health and Prescription - The program offers several options for medical insurance under the hospital's flexible benefits program. ProMedica promotes a smoke-free environment for all new employees.

Additional Benefits:

Dental, Disability and Vision Coverage – The Program offers several options for the above under the hospital's flexible benefits program.

Life – A base plan is provided at no cost. Additional benefits may be purchased up to two times salary.

Moving Expenses

In accordance with hospital policy, an allowance up to $2,500 is available for relocations within the continental United States.
