Emergency services at Toledo Hospital are offered in a state-of-the-art facility with technologically advanced tools—including a computerized axial tomography (CAT scan) on site, an updated imaging service, and a five-room observation area. The emergency department at Toledo Hospital strives to make separate areas to accommodate patients with particular needs. There is a dedicated area for victims of assault, domestic violence, child and elder abuse, and sexual assault.
Toledo Hospital is certified as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society for Chest Pain Centers. In achieving this elite distinction, Toledo Hospital was commended for its expertise and commitment to emergency cardiac care. The Accredited Chest Pain Center at Toledo Hospital provides rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment of chest pain for patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
For our smallest patients, we have a dedicated children's ER featuring nine pediatric patient care rooms, trauma room, and waiting area. Physicians are trained in pediatrics as well as emergency trained, and the nursing staff is trained in pediatrics and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
