An ER that speaks to kids on their level. Imagine that.
When your child is experiencing an emergency, you want the best possible care. ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital is home to the region’s only dedicated children’s emergency center, featuring nine child-friendly pediatric care rooms and staffed with pediatric emergency physicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
All staff members are specially trained to treat children's medical needs and have pediatric advance life support (PALS) certification. Our equipment is also appropriately sized for pediatric patients. After all, kids are special. And that’s just the way we treat them.
Go or Don't Go
At times, it's difficult to decide whether to take your child to the emergency room or to your child's doctor. Through a series of interactive videos, Eugene Izsak, MD, medical director for the pediatric emergency department at ProMedica Toledo Children's Hospital, can help guide you through several common medical scenarios. In each video, you make the decision to go or not to go to the ER – and Dr. Izsak explains which choice makes the most sense for your child. Watch the above video to test your ER IQ.
