Biography
Dr. Whalen is a board-certified vascular surgeon at Jobst Vascular Institute and ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In addition, Dr. Whalen sees patients in vascular clinics at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio, ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital in Defiance, Ohio, ProMedica Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh, Mich., and ProMedica Bixby Hospital in Adrian, Mich. A graduate of Anthony Wayne High School and Bowling Green State University, Dr. Whalen received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. As a faculty member of the ACGME-accredited Jobst Vascular Fellowship Program, Dr. Whalen is a highly respected mentor to fellows during their two-year vascular education. He serves as Section Head of Vascular Surgery at ProMedica St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio, and as Team Physician for Anthony Wayne High School. Dr. Whalen treats patients with a wide variety of vascular conditions, including carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysms, peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), critical limb ischemia, and chronic venous insufficiency.
