Flower Hospital received the Ohio Partnership for Excellence Gold Level Award in 2006, 2008 and 2011. In 2012, Flower Hospital was recognized with the highest honor in Ohio from The Partnership for Excellence (formerly OPE) and was presented with the Governor’s Award (Platinum Level). Based on criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, this achievement recognizes organizations that demonstrate, through commitment and practice, significant progress toward excellence.
In 2010, Hickman Cancer Center at Flower Hospital received Reaccreditation with Commendation from the College of Surgeons. This achievement recognizes compliance with all standards of the cancer program and a commendation rating for one or more standards.
In 2010, The Joint Commission awarded Flower Hospital (FH) its Certificate of Distinction as a Primary Stroke Center. This designation recognizes FH’s exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes for stroke care.
Flower Hospital was recognized as fully meeting standards for preventing pressure ulcers by the 2008 Leapfrog Group Hospital Survey. The Leapfrog Group focuses on patient safety issues.
Hickman Cancer Center at Flower Hospital received Accreditation with Commendation and an Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons. This achievement recognizes compliance with all standards of the cancer program and a commendation rating for one or more standards.
Flower Hospital received certification for bloodless care by the Association for Blood Conservation. FH is the only hospital in the area certified to provide bloodless care for patients who wish not to accept blood transfusions.
In 2006, Flower Hospital was recognized by The Center for Multicultural Competence in Healthcare Organizations for demonstrating proficiency in meeting the needs of a fast-growing multicultural population in the region.
