Food Service & Cafeteria

Our dietary department prepares healthy and enjoyable meals for patients, visitors and staff. Inpatients receive their meals through room service. Patients select their meals and snacks from a restaurant-style menu. Patients are encouraged to select what they want, within any dietary restrictions, and have it served when they want it. Visitors and guests are welcome to dine in our cafeteria. It is open for normal breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Vending machines with snacks and beverages are available the reception area and gift shop lobby area.
Gift Shop

The hospital gift shop is located near the main lobby. Operated by the ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Auxiliary, it offers a selection of gifts, cards, books, candy, flowers, seasonal collectibles and personal articles. Most major credit cards are accepted.
Hearing-Impaired Services
Sign language interpreters as well as web-based, live translation programs are available. Phones with volume controls for patients with hearing difficulties are also available to patients and families.

Located at the main entrance of the hospital, inside Entrance 1, the information desk representatives are available to direct you to the services you are seeking.
Internet Access
Wireless Internet access is available throughout ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.
Interpreter Services
ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital provides translation services for non-English speaking patients.
Library Cart
Volunteers at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital provide a library cart service for patients. General interest books and magazines are available for patient use.
Mail and Flowers
Mail and flowers are delivered daily to patients in their rooms by volunteers. Any mail received after discharge will be forwarded to the patient’s home address.
Newspapers
Complementary copies of the Fostoria Focus and the Review Times newspapers are available to patients in their rooms and to visitors. Additional newspapers may be purchased in the canopied entrance, Entrance 3, to the hospital.
Parking
Visitors and patients may park in the lots closest to the hospital entrance. Additional parking is available on the other side of Van Buren Street.
Patient Information
Inpatients may choose to be included in the hospital directory. When callers ask for the patient by name, the hospital switchboard operator will connect the call to the patient’s room.
Personal Items
Personal items other than a gown, robe, slippers and toiletry articles are not needed while staying in the hospital. It is recommended that all valuables be sent home with a friend or relative. Patients are asked to keep dentures, eyeglasses and hearing aids in a safe place when not in use.
Smoking Policy
All ProMedica campuses, including ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, are tobacco-free, indoors and outdoors. This includes our lawns, walkways, sidewalks, parking lots (including inside vehicles), and any other grounds that ProMedica maintains. As a courtesy, please also be considerate of our neighbors, avoiding littering and loitering on properties that surround our campus.

Telephone Service and Cell Phones
Telephones are available in all patient rooms. Cell phones may be used in all public areas of the hospital.
Television Services
Television service at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital is free of charge to patients. Channel guides are available in each room.
Visiting Hours
Rest is an important part of your care. But, we know that family and friends can help make your hospital stay more pleasant. Unless the physician does not recommend visitors or the patient prefers not to have visitors, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital has a flexible visiting hour policy. Please check the unit posting or ask a nurse for that unit’s visiting hours.
