ProMedica's Mission is to improve your health and well-being. And ProMedica Flower Hospital has been serving our community for more than 100 years. To this day, our commitment to excellence and compassion remains unchanged.
For instance, our 311-bed facility in Sylvania, Ohio, is accredited by the Joint Commission. We are also home to the Hickman Cancer Center and an emergency trauma center, and we're the regional leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services.

ProMedica Flower Hospital Receives Highest Honor in Ohio for Organizational Performance Excellence
ProMedica Flower Hospital has earned Ohio’s premier award for exceeding safety and quality standards established by the internationally-recognized Malcolm Baldrige Criteria. It is the only organization in the state to receive the Governor’s Award for Excellence, the highest level award from The Partnership for Excellence (TPE). The award is based on performance excellence, innovation and visionary leadership in health care. TPE is Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia’s Baldrige-based awards program. Flower Hospital is the only healthcare organization in those states to achieve this level of recognition.

Giving and Volunteering
More than 100 years ago, Stevens Warren Flower made a $20,000 donation in memory of his wife - Ellen Burge Flower. With that money, the original Flower Hospital was built in downtown Toledo.
