If you’re experiencing joint, bone or muscle pain, you don’t have to travel far for state-of-the-art orthopaedic care. ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital offers a full range of orthopaedic services, including the latest surgical and nonsurgical procedures. ProMedica Physicians board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Stan Dajczak, MD, works closely with nurses, anesthesiologists, radiologists, physical and occupational therapists, and other specially-trained personnel to provide a comprehensive care.

Surgical Treatments

When your diagnosis requires orthopaedic surgery, you can trust in the state-of-the-art surgical techniques used by Dr. Dajczak and his team at Defiance Regional Hospital. Surgical procedures include:

Conservative Treatments

There are several options for treating bone and joint pain before or instead of surgery. Alternative treatments offered at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital include anti-inflammatory or lubricant injections and physical therapy. If you are experiencing joint or bone pain, Dr. Dajczak and his team can help you determine the best treatment for you.

Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy

No matter where you live in the Defiance area, there is a therapy location convenient for you. ProMedica offers two convenient locations in Defiance for rehabilitation and physical therapy.

Total Rehab – Conveniently located on the Defiance Regional Hospital campus, this location is close to Dr. Dajcak’s office and other medical services, including laboratory and radiology. In addition to physical and occupational therapy, this location features onsite aquatic therapy for orthopaedic patients.

Defiance Rehabilitation Service (DRS) – Located on the south side of Defiance, DRS is led by Jim Kissel, LPT, and his team of therapists and health professionals. In addition to offering comprehensive physical therapy services, the team specializes in sports medicine and provides services to numerous college and high school athletes.

Pain is a major concern for many people facing orthopaedic surgery. However, Defiance Regional Hospital utilizes several innovative methods to minimize your pain and discomfort. ProMedica Physicians anesthesiologist, Jordan Stuckey, MD, uses state-of-the-art pain management techniques, including peripheral nerve blocks, which provide continuous pain relief and reduce the need for narcotics after surgery.

Nancy’s Story

Nancy leads a very active life. As a grandmother of four, she enjoys spending as much time as she can with her grandkids. She is also a supervisor at a major retail store, which keeps her on her feet most of the day. However, that all changed after she injured in her knee in a car accident.
