The Renaissance: Construction
The Renaissance
The Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital opened their brand new, state-of-the-art campus to the community in January 2008.
As ProMedica Health System’s largest construction effort to date, Phase II of The Renaissance features a new 10-story, 500,000-square-foot patient tower designed specifically to enhance the patient care experience, expand services and better serve patients in our 27-county region.
The new tower houses many of the most important clinical areas of The Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital, including the surgical intensive care unit, adult intermediate care units, newborn intensive care unit (NICU), general pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology.
Highlights include:
- 289 spacious, private adult and pediatric patient rooms, featuring ample space for patients, visitors, physicians and clinical caregivers
- Dedicated and separate entrances and elevators for The Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital, providing patients and visitors with exceptional comfort and convenience in age-appropriate environments
- Debbie Brass Children’s Cancer Center, providing dedicated inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric hematology/oncology patients
- State-of-the-art, 60-bed NICU, including private rooms, rooms that can be expanded to accommodate multiple births and transitional care rooms
- Rooftop helipad, providing quick, direct access to critical care services throughout the facility
- New café, Auxiliary gift shop and outpatient pharmacy
- ProMedica Parkway (formerly Oatis Avenue), a new four-lane boulevard, providing convenient access to the hospitals from the city’s interstate highway belt
