ProMedica was formed in 1986 and is a Toledo, Ohio-based, not-for-profit health care organization with more than 15,000 employees and 2,900 physicians; over 70 corporations and joint ventures; and more than 283 sites in its 27-county service area in northwest and west central Ohio and southeast Michigan. ProMedica facilities treated more than 2.5 million patients last year and include 10 hospitals; ProMedica Continuing Care Services with integrative services, such as rehabilitation, home care, ambulatory, senior, community health, retail, medical transportation and care coordination; ProMedica Physician Group, with over 200 primary care, obstetrics and specialty physicians; Paramount Health Care, the largest health maintenance organization in northwest Ohio; and the Health, Education and Research Corporation, with more than 200 academic relationships.
