Community Health & Wellness
Defiance Regional Medical Center provides community health and wellness programs and services to local community members and businesses. A variety of screenings and educational programs are offered annually, both on site at Defiance Regional Medical Center as well as throughout the community. We promote wellness by providing health risk appraisals, health clinics, education, fitness activities and resources, and referrals.
Total Wellness

Scale Down Weight Management
Managing your weight can have a positive affect on all aspects of your
life. The Scale Down program offers two different options to best fit
participants' lifestyles and goals. The program offers weekly classes,
with a strong emphasis on physical activity and long-term lifestyle
changes, directed by health educators to achieve moderate weight loss
using meal replacements. The at-home program uses the same moderate
weight-loss diet with brief weekly visits by a health educator for
increased accountability.
The Scale Down program of Defiance Regional Medical Center uses Health
Management Resources™ (HMR), a national health care company
specializing in professional programs for weight and health management.
In 2006, the Scale Down program received the HMR Gold Standard
Certificate of Achievement distinguishing it from hundreds of similar
clinics nationwide for the fifth straight year. The Gold Standard award
represents the top 5% of programs nationally.

Corporate Wellness Activities
A variety of health activities are available for corporations to offer
to their employees. Employee health risk appraisals combined with
various screenings can help determine a baseline health status for your
