Personal Items
Personal items other than a gown, robe, slippers and toiletry articles are not needed while staying in the hospital. It is recommended that all valuables be sent home with a friend or relative. The hospital cannot be responsible for loss or breakage of personal belongings.

Smoking Policy
In keeping with its mission to provide quality health care, smoking is not permitted in Defiance Regional Medical Center or near its entrances. This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, physicians, visitors and patients. A smoking area has been designated outside. Please ask any hospital employee for the location.

Please be advised that all ProMedica Health System campuses will become tobacco-free, indoors and outdoors, beginning Jan. 1, 2008. We are not asking you to quit smoking, although we strongly recommend it for your health and the health of others. But, we are asking you not to smoke while on ProMedica campuses. (As a courtesy, we ask that you be considerate of our neighbors, avoiding littering and loitering on properties that surround our campuses.)

To receive information now on how to quit or curb the use of tobacco products, please contact 1-800-QUITNOW (784-8669) in Ohio, or 1-800-480-QUIT (7848) in Michigan. Thank you for assisting us in offering a healthy environment to everyone who visits our facility. We appreciate your cooperation.
