Bixby Community Health Foundation
Philanthropy helps inspire the superior health care and compassionate service that we provide at Bixby Medical Center and enhances the quality of life of our patients and their families.

The Bixby Community Health Foundation receives and directs charitable contributions on behalf of the hospital from our friends in the community. Both the hospital and its foundation are not-for-profit organizations, and all contributions are used at Bixby Medical Center to purchase much-needed equipment and enhance programs and services that benefit those we serve.

Our mission is to raise funds to support Bixby Medical Center. Please join us in fulfilling this mission

Giving Opportunities to the Community

Your gift has the greatest impact when you allow the Bixby Community Health Foundation to direct it to a critical need. Or, if you prefer, you may designate your gift for a specific use. The foundation team can help you consider your giving options and those discussions are always confidential. There are many ways to give, including a gift by check, credit card, stock asset or real estate. Know that, regardless of the size of your contribution, your gift will make a direct impact on enhancing programs and services that benefit our patients and their families.

Retirement Plans: Since there are substantial tax penalties for having too much money left in a retirement plan, naming a not-for-profit organization could be beneficial. Bixby Community Health Foundation can be named as part of your estate planning.

The annual Graze to Raise 5K fundraiser supports the Hickman Cancer Center located at Bixby Medical Center.

Insurance Policies: Gifts of insurance policies are a great way to make a significant contribution.  Often, donors discover that their needs for the policy have changed and that they no longer need the insurance coverage. It’s possible to name the hospital or long-term care facility as beneficiary of the policy and make a sizable donation.

Planned Gifts: Many planned gifts require the assistance of a legal or financial advisor. Most planned gifts are deferred gifts promising future support for the hospital. Having a conversation with your attorney or planned giving professional could help identify giving opportunities that are applicable to your specific situation.

Memorial and Honorarium Gifts: Cash and planned gifts to the Bixby Community Health Foundation are a nice way to memorialize or honor a loved one. Opportunities include naming recognition on rooms and donor honor walls, endowed scholarships and the naming of departments and buildings. Please contact the Bixby Community Health Foundation at 517-265-0428 to further discuss this option.

Gifts of Stocks: A gift of appreciated publicly traded securities can bring the donor greater tax savings than gifts of cash, while benefiting Bixby Medical Center. Please contact the Bixby Community Health Foundation with questions regarding this great vehicle for giving.

Charitable Bequests:  A charitable bequest supports the work of our hospitals after death. A charitable bequest may be included at the time of writing a will or it may be added later by a codicil. A bequest does not affect current income and may favorably impact the estate taxes owed.

Commemorative Giving: A gift in honor of a special person or occasion, or a memorial tribute when a loved one passes away can be a thoughtful gesture. We notify the family or the honoree, but the amount of your contribution is never disclosed.

Legacy Giving: Your financial advisor or the Bixby Community Health Foundation staff can help you learn how to include charitable giving in your estate plans.

Get Involved: The Bixby Community Health Foundation has opportunities for companies and individuals to become actively involved in its philanthropic efforts by becoming a corporate partner and supporting Bixby Medical Center while promoting that corporation’s products and services. Opportunities are also available to become involved in the Bixby Pro-Am Golf Tournament, as a sponsor or a golfer, and help provide financial support for programs and services at the hospital.

Another way to get involved is to participate in Graze to Raise, a 5K fund raiser for the Hickman Cancer Center. In addition, The Bixby Medical Center Auxiliary is currently accepting applications. The Auxiliary organizes opportunities to raise funds in support of the programs and services at the hospital.
