Alcohol & Drug Treatment

An estimated 5.6 million adults face alcohol abuse each year (National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism) and an estimated 6.1% of all adults will experience a drug problem during their lifetime (National Institute on Drug Abuse).

To help adults and families facing these issues, we offer both inpatient and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment. In confidential treatment settings, health care professionals strive to provide compassionate care that follows a treatment plan developed by each patient's treatment team. The goal is to restore maximum independent living as rapidly as possible, using the appropriate level of care for the patient’s needs. Frequently, the family or caregiver is involved as part of the treatment team.

ProMedica Health System offers a variety of drug and alcohol treatment services for adults. Our programs provide inpatient detoxification, subacute hospitalization and partial hospitalization for the adult and geriatric patient with chemical dependency problems. All patients are linked with a certified chemical dependency counselor along with a physician, nurses and other professionals to provide intensive treatment based on the 12-step philosophy.

Treatment for alcohol and substance abuse/chemical dependency depends on the patient's needs. Detoxification averages three to four days followed by an intensive outpatient program, outpatient and community support group services.
