The Goerlich Center on the Flower Hospital campus is a safe, comfortable, and secure residence for those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. We do everything possible to help residents retain their daily living skills and remain independent as long as possible.
Our staff has extensive experience in Alzheimer’s and dementia care and is trained in the latest techniques, such as validation therapy. Credentialed physicians provide primary medical care and psychological services, and The Goerlich Center’s medical director is a board-certified neurologist.
Our services include support groups, information resources and programs for family members. We help you understand Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and are available for private consultations.
The Goerlich Center is designed to help residents feel at ease, with:
- All private rooms.
- A multipurpose room in each wing where 12 residents dine and take part in activities.
- Staff permanently assigned to each resident for consistency of care.
- Two secure, landscaped courtyards where residents enjoy the outdoors safely.
- A curio cabinet outside each room for personal mementos and to help residents locate their rooms.
- The special Memory Lane unit, an assisted living unit within the center.
- Sensory stimulation room.
- Bird aviary.
- A family room where residents gather with their relatives.
