Physical therapists play an important role in the rehabilitation of patients of all ages. They help people who have injuries or illnesses improve their movement and manage their pain. At ProMedica, our physical therapists work inpatient, outpatient and home health care settings with pediatric and adults patients. Effective October 1, 2013, ProMedica will implement a mandatory influenza (flu) vaccination policy for all new hires. This policy aligns ProMedica with other healthcare systems locally and across the country that already require flu vaccinations. New hires with legitimate medical or religious reasons will be excused from the vaccination policy but must wear a mask during patient care activities or when working with others. ProMedica provides free flu vaccinations to all new hires. New hires may be vaccinated at an off-site location at their own cost but must provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
Tobacco-free Hiring Practice
To foster a healthier workforce, as well as to demonstrate to our patients and the community our strong commitment to health and wellness, ProMedica will hire only tobacco-free employees. Our application asks about the use of tobacco and nicotine replacement, and candidates will be screened for nicotine before they are hired.
Applicants who declare use or screen positive for nicotine may reapply for a position after they have been tobacco/nicotine-free for 90 days.
