TOLEDO, OHIO, Nov. 9, 2012 – Residents of Greater Toledo named ProMedica Toledo Hospital their choice for the 2012 Consumer Choice Award by the National Research Corporation (NRC). Toledo Hospital is one of only 42 hospitals to receive this elite national honor for 17 consecutive years. The award is based on a comprehensive consumer survey of more than 250,000 households in more than 300 markets across the nation. Residents in Fulton, Wood, Ottawa, and Lucas counties ranked Toledo Hospital number one on four key metrics; best quality, best doctors, best nurses, and best image and reputation.
“We are delighted that residents have consistently chosen Toledo Hospital and deeply appreciate their confidence and trust,” says Kevin Webb, president, ProMedica Toledo Hospital. “To receive this award 17 years in a row reflects the commitment of our physicians, nurses and staff in setting the region’s standard for providing high quality, patient-centered care.”
NRC annually honors the top-rated hospitals recognized by consumers for providing quality healthcare services. The NRC Healthcare Market Guide® study is the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind in the nation. No other study used to rate hospitals contains more consumer feedback than NRC’s annual study.
“The goal of empowering customer-centric health care and quality improvement initiatives from providers is to provide better outcomes — and create positive consumer perceptions,” said Susan L. Henricks, president and chief operating officer for NRC. “We congratulate the recipients of the Consumer Choice Awards and salute their efforts to improve performance.”
