ProMedica Bixby Hospital Accepting Entries For “Robot Round-Up” And “Dub The Davinci” Contests

posted on: 03/14/2013

ADRIAN, Mich., Feb. 20, 2013 - ProMedica Bixby Hospital invites Lenawee County residents to participate in two contests for a chance to win cash and other prizes. The Dub the daVInci contest is open to Lenawee County residents 18 years of age and older. The Robot Round-Up contest is open to all residents and students of Lenawee County between the ages of 3 to 12 years. Below are details about both:

The Robot Round-Up contest gives Lenawee County residents and students ages 3-12 the opportunity to create their own robot using craft, building or household items. A photo of their creation must be submitted to robotcontest@promedica.org. There will be three prizes awarded in each age category (3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years), including toys and gift cards to local businesses.

The Dub the daVinci© contest asks local residents 18 years of age and older to submit nickname ideas for ProMedica Bixby Hospital’s surgical robot. Residents can access a form and contest details by joining the ProMedica Bixby and Herrick Hospitals Facebook page or at www.promedica.org/bixby. The winner of the contest will win $250 in cash. The winning name will be chosen by ProMedica Bixby Hospital’s robotic surgery committee.

In addition to showcasing winners of the two contests, the Robot Round-Up open house will celebrate the new robotic surgery program at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. The event will give local residents the opportunity to test-drive the hospital’s new daVinci© surgical robot; participate in safety demonstrations, enjoy refreshments, and enter several prize drawings. The event will also feature robot-themed children’s activities including “Operation Nice” an anti-bullying presentation by Michigan author Kristy Short.
For more information about the contests, email robotcontest@promedica.org or call 517-265-0280.
