Think Pink All Year Long

Breast Cancer Month may be over for the year, but that doesn’t mean we should stop thinking about the disease, or quit working on our awareness and preventative goals. The truth is, all women — as well as men — should be aware of breast cancer all year long. That’s why ProMedica has partnered with Susan G. Komen of Northwest Ohio to offer free mammograms and breast screenings for uninsured and underinsured women across northwest Ohio. According to Komen, all women should have a clinical breast exam at least every three years starting at age 20, and every year starting at age 40. Women over the age of 40 with average risk should also have a mammogram each year. To see if you qualify for a free mammogram, please call 877-291-1441, or click here to view the remaining dates and locations.

Scents of the Season: Aromatherapy Consultation

This holiday season, cancer patients are invited to join ProMedica Cancer Institute’s own Deb Reis, RN, MSN and certified clinical aromatherapist for a special afternoon of healing. During the workshop, participants will learn to identify therapeutic-grade essential oils and their properties, and how they can be integrated into your health practices. The event takes place at the Victory Center from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18th. For more information, or to RSVP, please call 419-531-7600.
