Bringing You the Care You Need and Deserve
At Jobst Vascular Institute, we have a team of more than 130 vascular surgeons, vascular medicine specialists, interventional radiologists, vascular nurses, registered vascular technologists and clinical office staff. Our goal is to treat you, the vascular patient, every step of the way, from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation. When you come to Jobst Vascular Institute for treatment, you can be certain that our staff will consider all available treatment choices and pick the one that is best for you. In addition, you can be confident that the treatment we suggest has been decided based on the clinical evidence we have amassed through years of research. This careful consideration of you and your unique situation is the hallmark of Jobst Vascular Institute care.
For patients whose vascular condition or treatment requires anticoagulants, we provide an integrative Anticoagulation service that facilitates, monitors and manages anticoagulation therapy. Our team consists of specially trained physicians, nurses and support staff.
For our patients who have circulation problems, we offer the Jobst Vascular Rehabilitation Program. This program specializes in education and exercise and is particularly helpful for people at high risk for developing vascular disease.
Whether you are suffering from the discomfort of varicose veins or simply feeling self-conscious about spider veins, the Vein Solutions office at Jobst Vascular Institute has an effective, technologically sophisticated treatment for you. Its board-certified physicians are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cosmetic and therapeutic vein problems.
Weekly Clinical Conferences
Jobst Vascular Institute (JVI) holds weekly vascular conferences that provide a forum for a variety of topics, including vascular research interests, vascular laboratory cases, endovascular research, aspects of vascular nursing and interesting clinical cases. All JVI conferences are free and open to all ProMedica medical staff, including vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and staff, nursing personnel from the vascular surgery units, vascular technologists and vascular team members from the operating room staff.
Experience Vascular Nursing Conference
The Experience Vascular Nursing conference is an annual conference to provide nurses, technologists and other vascular health care professionals with up-to-date information on vascular disease topics to facilitate care delivery in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, office practices or home. (ProMedica (OH-069) is an approved provider of continuing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.) While quality patient vascular care is the foundation of all the activities at the Jobst Vascular Institute, it takes more than just practice to provide the best care. The key to ensuring that our care practices remain on the leading edge of today’s vascular treatments is our rigorous research program. The research that we do helps the patients we see every day—and it will impact the care of patients with vascular disease into the next century. We are proud of our institute’s research milestones, which include:
- Leading the largest trial ever of non-operative, medical therapy for claudication (painful walking due to leg artery blockage).
- Pioneering follow-up methods by ultrasound monitoring to improve the results of leg artery bypass grafting.
- Studying control of aortic aneurysm by medication without surgery.
- Developing novel methods for venous surgery by minimally invasive, endoscopic techniques.
- Improving methods of carotid surgery to prevent stroke.
- Developing endovascular procedures and devices to improve care of aortic aneurysms and reduce length of hospital stay.
Successful research programs involve a great deal of communication. Our most essential research participants are the patients who sign up for and participate in clinical research. Our clinical trials are critical to the success of Jobst Vascular Institute and provide a place where patients can benefit from the very newest vascular technologies and care practices.
Conrad Jobst Lectureship
Our vascular professionals are constantly seeking to improve their treatments by comparing notes with others in the field. The Conrad Jobst Lectureship is one such example of a forum where vascular professionals can meet and discuss the latest practices and problems in the field. Our staff members also attend and present research at vascular conferences and contribute to professional publications.
Jobst Vascular Institute physicians treat any number of arterial and venous diseases and conditions. Please schedule a consultation if you are seeking treatment for carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, deep vein thrombosis, critical limb ischemia, chronic venous insufficiency, or leg ulcers. Our vascular surgeons are certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Jobst Vascular Institute is on the 4th and 5th floors of the Conrad Jobst Tower on the ProMedica Toledo Hospital campus.
