About Us


Fostoria Community Hospital (FCH), a member of ProMedica Health System, is a 25-bed, full-service, acute care hospital serving the people of Fostoria and the surrounding communities in its three-county service area. Patients at FCH have access to state-of-the-art surgery, diagnostic and emergency center facilities, as well as an active, consulting and courtesy medical staff of more than 100. FCH is a critical access hospital with The Joint Commission accreditation.

The hospital offers general medical care, including inpatient, emergency, surgery and obstetrics. FCH has extensive ancillary services such as radiology, laboratory, cardiopulmonary, physical, occupational and speech therapies, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and special imaging. FCH also offers health care services exceptional in a smaller hospital including: dialysis, cancer care services, sports medicine, a sleep testing unit, primary care clinic, wellness program, home health care and home medical equipment.

The Great City of Fostoria 5K Race

7 p.m. (registration begins at 6 p.m.)
Fostoria Municipal Building Lawn (corner of Tiffin and Main Streets)

Cost is $15. The entry fee includes a $5 donation to First Step – a Family Violence Intervention Center. T-shirts are only guaranteed to pre-registered entries.

Prizes will be awarded to the top overall male and female contestants, and top three in age category. Walkers are welcome.

This event is held in conjunction with the annual Fostoria Chamber of Commerce Car Show.

Pete DiCesare's Story


Pete DiCesare helped save lives for a living. We were happy to help save his.

When Fostoria Assistant Fire Chief Pete DiCesare returned from an inspection at the police department, he just didn’t feel quite right. Only minutes before, he had heard that a friend was in critical condition following a car accident. Pete was stressed and felt pressure on his chest.

He knew he was in trouble. But he also knew he could count on us.

Hintze Family's Story


Nikki and Kyle Hintze were expecting their second child. Just not quite so soon.

Nikki and Kyle Hintze happily counted the days till the planned delivery of their second child, Grace. What they hadn’t counted on were contractions starting a month early. When medicine didn’t stop the contractions, they knew it was time.

The History

Since 1930, Fostoria Community Hospital has provided quality health care conveniently to Fostoria and the surrounding communities. The original hospital has undergone numerous expansions and renovations to accommodate health care advances and the changing needs of the community. The hospital underwent expansions in 1939, 1961, 1976, 1996, 2000, 2003 and 2008.

The most recent expansion was the opening of a new main entrance and the Donald and Judy Miller Diagnostic Center. This project provides new levels of convenience, accessibility, as well as advanced technology including: full-field digital mammography, 64-slice CT, wide-open bore MRI, dual-head nuclear medicine camera, 3D ultrasound and full-body DEXA. Renovations and minor expansion to the FCH Pharmacy, retail pharmacy services, and the emergency department, were completed in 2008 as well.
